Introduction

Project Scope

  • Restaurant concept development
  • Brand identity
  • Brand photography
  • Menu development & design
  • Branded promotions & events
  • Social media
  • Restaurant opening – recruitment marketing, opening and event

The Challenge

Cactus Restaurants needed a new concept to grow their portfolio—one that complemented, not cannibalized, their flagship brand. Our challenge was to define this distinct identity and build all supporting marketing materials to successfully launch it to market.

The Solution

We helped launch King Taps, creating the brand from the ground up—concept development, market expansion, and full marketing planning and execution. Guided by a philosophy of immersing in the market, we observed audiences, studied competitors, and spoke directly with staff and customers—modeling for the team how to experience the brand firsthand and uncover valuable insights.

The Results

King Taps quickly emerged as a fast-growing premium casual brand in AAA Canadian locations. Its Toronto launch—the country’s toughest market—exceeded all business targets, with every promotion succeeding without cannibalizing Cactus Club. The flexible brand identity proved scalable, supporting expansion into new markets and audiences.

“Ali and Alisha played a pivotal role in the successful launch of King Taps, crafting a brand that not only complemented our existing portfolio but also established itself as a competitive force in downtown Toronto. Their launch strategy generated city-wide excitement, resulting in impressive foot traffic from day one. Since then, we’ve launched several more King Taps locations, and the brand’s strength continues to resonate across diverse markets and audiences.”
