PearlSpace

Cultivating hope through inclusive supportive services and community

Introduction

PearlSpace provides emergency house programs, 24-hour response services, drop-in centres, outreach services, referrals, and advocacy for individuals and communities in the Sea to Sky Corridor and Stl’atl’imx regions.

Project Scope

  • Naming
  • Brand strategy
  • Identity system
  • Design templates
  • Messaging framework

The Challenge

PearlSpace began as a grassroots organization in Squamish, BC, offering shelter and support for women leaving abusive relationships. Over time its services grew to include multicultural programs, youth education, and drop-in centres. The old name and identity no longer reflected who they were or served. Outdated visuals and no internal marketing team left them without the tools to clearly communicate their evolving role in the community.

The Solution

Discovery was at the heart of this project. We spoke with staff, clients, volunteers, and donors to ensure inclusivity. The first step was a new name: PearlSpace, honoring the founder’s legacy while symbolizing transformation, safety, and belonging. We then delivered a full rebrand with clear identity pillars, a flexible visual system, adaptable templates, and updated branding for Pearl’s Value & Vintage.

The Results

The rebrand clarified PearlSpace’s identity and equipped staff with tools for consistent communication. Since launch, most people now recognize PearlSpace by name, client diversity has grown with gender-expansive people feeling welcome, and the visual identity is well recognized across Squamish and Whistler. Marketing and communications are stronger, reaching wider audiences.

“Mothership Marketing supported our organization in not only being able to articulate the “why” of our rebrand but also taking us through a transformational journey that reinforced that “why”. Just as we do for the people we serve, Mothership Marketing met us where we were at, walked alongside us and helped us find our unique path forward. We are so grateful for the care, guidance and encouragement they provided along the way, and we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome”
